Hisbiscus Mango Tea / Flor de Jamaica Mango Tea [En]

I recently came up with a good recipe I wish I came up with before in my life. I am a tea lover and my favorite is hibiscus and peach. Hisbiscus juice is was one of my favorite growing up and I do it sometimes for the children too. Me, I rather have the tea than the juice now. So the day I came up with the recipe, I had the loose hibiscus I use for the juice and decided to add mango for extra flavor. Note that the hibiscus juice alone is already sour so get a sweet mango.

  • 1 part of a mango
  • 1 tablespoon of hisbiscus flower 
  • 1 teaspoon of honey
  • Sugar optional according to taste
  • 1/2 lemon
  • Water

  • Boil the water 
  • Add hibiscus flowers and some of the mango
  • Let it boil for 2 minutes 
  • Remove from the heat and filter
  • Add remaining of the mango
  • Add honey, lemon and optional sugar

I divided the mango because I wanted some chuncks in my tea, and I loved it.  If you do not want chunks just add everything when boiling and smash a little to fully release the flavors.
